Minnetonka Orchard: A soliloquy to Liz

With Mommy and Daddy out of town, Liz is always looking for awesome stuff for us to do, and I'm pretty sure she pulled out all the stops for this weekend.  On Saturday, she took us to the apple orchard, and oh my god did we have fun!  First, we got to ride a tractor,

and then we got to check out the animals.

We weren't totally impressed.  We did, however, LOVE the pumpkin patch!

It's not every day we pose for pictures so nicely.  Then we got to climb on a hay pile, test out the apple cider, and play in a wooden train.

Once we were bored of that, we decided to pose with Liz again around some more pumpkins.

This time we weren't quite as obliging, so Liz bribed us with a rest and some donuts.

The last thing we did was get our faces painted...

and aren't our pumpkin cheeks awesome?  Liz is basically the very best nanny we've ever had.  We love it when she stays with us, and we don't even ask for Mommy and Daddy...despite what Liz might say.  We just tell her to tell them we miss them so they don't feel so left out.  Thanks for a super fun weekend Liz!  We can't wait to do it again!

New gear

Sometimes, when Mommy and Daddy go out of town, they bring presents back for us.  And this latest trip to Lincoln was one of those time.  They brought us some new Husker gear, and we were so excited to wear it, we (ok, mostly me, Ella) insisted on wearing it over our jammies.

Two

It's not "two two" or even "two three", but I'm working on it!

Happy birthday Carly!

Stylin'

Now that me and Ella have so many obligations, it's important to look our best.

Fortunately my new haircut is sure to impress all the ladies.  But I think Ella needs to work on not scaring the boys off with her smile.

Polka dots, tutus, golf and grandparents

Gramma Betti and Pops came in town over the weekend to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with us, so we wanted to spend some time showing off all of the things we've been loving lately. First we peeked at Gramma while using her as a tunnel,

then I showed off my golf skills to Pops and spun with Gramma.

It's a good thing my golf and spinning skills are so great, because they definitely distracted everyone from the fashion mistake also known as Ella.

Will baby sisters ever learn?

Food

Me and Ella, we're pretty awesome eaters. We haven't found anything we don't like...yet. Some of our most recent favorites?

Corn.

And ice cream in a cup from Licks is pretty much the best afternoon snack when we're all feeling kind of crummy.

Preschool

Today is not only our first day of preschool, but our first first day of school ever! We've been waiting for this day pretty much all summer long, and it's kind of hard to believe that it's finally here. I was beyond ready to go this morning (after a MASSIVE diaper fail),

but Coopy was a little upset (more like he threw a mega huge tantrum).

Once he cheered up, and we were sufficiently bribed into taking a picture together,

I put my sunnies on and was ready to go.

I'm pretty sure today is going to be the best first day ever!

Labor Day

Since we start preschool tomorrow, Mommy and Daddy thought we should end the summer on a high note. So when we decided to take an extra short nap, Mommy and Daddy decided to embrace it and take us to spend the afternoon at the pool. We figured we'd have even more fun if we brought the Nelsens along, and met the Langers there too. And boy oh boy were we right! We had so so so much fun! The pool is awesome! First, we did some splashing,

and then Coopy and Daddy went down the slide.

I was going to go, but I didn't want to get my sunnies wet.

Then after we had a quick snack and made sure Amelia was cozy in her seat, I played with some bubbles while Logan Langer dumped water on Coopy.

It's ok, he liked it. :-) Then it was time for some dinner pool-side.

After we had our fill of chicken tenders, grilled cheese, fries, sweet potato fries, and chips and salsa, it was time for ice cream.

It was a pretty great weekend, and an awesome end to the summer. And as Liz said as she was leaving today "it's a school night!" tonight.

Pizza Party!!

Tonight, me and Ella, we had our first pizza party with Max and Amelia. It was so much fun! First, Ella decided to test out Mimi's Mamaroo,

and then I decided to try to get my first kiss in.

See, Daddy told me to make my move when Mimi is small, that way I'll always be the one to which she compares every other kiss. Anyway, once we were done marking our claim and making our moves, it was time for pizza.

We got to sit in big kid chairs and everything! And the best part? At the end of every pizza party it's time for ice cream!

And this week we get ice cream Sunday and Monday?! Amazing!

GO BIG RED!

Happy first Husker game! Even though we're not in Lincoln, we're having our own tailgate.

And ice cream.

And bagels.
