Rosh Hashanah

Today is Rosh Hashanah...the Jewish New Year. And since we're Jewish, we thought it'd be important to celebrate accordingly. So, last night Gramma Betti, Pops, and Gramma Polly all came over for dinner. We had steak and potatoes and green beans and challah and honey cake for dessert. We liked the honey cake the best. We even got some today too! Then today, while Mommy and Daddy were at services, we played lots, and reflected on the previous year. First, when we woke up, we let Liz take our picture, just to show everyone we weren't wasting our day in bed.

Then we played,

and after crappy naps we had snack and did some playing with Mommy.

We really like playing, and playing this Rosh Hashanah is so different than playing last year. Last year we couldn't do much of anything, and this year we can crawl and almost walk and stand and jump and screech and tons of other stuff. We can't wait to see what this year brings! Happy New Year everyone! May this year be sweeter than the last!

Mommy and Daddy think that lately Ella and me, we've been in some pretty foul moods. However, we don't think so. I can you say we've been anything but pleasant and wonderful...especially when we look this cute?

We love that it's getting colder outside. Pops calls it "hitting weather" but right now we're just calling it "too cold and rainy to play." Fortunately, colder weather means we get to wear all the new clothes Mommy got for us. Don't I look adorable in my new pants?

Unfortunately, Mommy caught me trying to drink Daddy's chocolate milk...

I almost got some too.

Lone rangers

Mommy and Daddy went to Lincoln last weekend, and guess what! They left us all alone!! Ok, well, not all alone, all alone...Liz was with us, but she's putty in our hands so we basically had the run of the joint. :-) Anyway, it was awesome! We had the best time! Liz had this great idea to give us some Cool Whip with our berries and fruit at snack time...

clearly we thought it was the very best idea ever. She's so brilliant. :-) Then on Saturday, we even got to watch football with her!

Unfortunately she couldn't find the Husker game on tv, but that was ok, we still supported our team.

Then yesterday, she accidentally left her computer open and on the couch where we could reach it, and we got to learn all about Facebook!

We asked Mommy if we could have one and she said that since we could barely keep up with our blog, we're clearly not ready for Facebook. Stupid. We can't wait for the next time Mommy and Daddy leave us with Liz for a weekend!

We love it when we get mail...even more so when the mail is in the form of a package. And the best part? It's not even our birthday! Yesterday we got a package with tons of awesome stuff in it! First, we got these projects our cousin Maggie made for us. Cooper's is a turtle, and mine is a fish.

We made Mommy hang them up where we could see them, but not eat them. Then, because I'm a girl, I got an extra special present from Maggie...Husker hair clips!

I wasn't feeling too cooperative this morning when Mommy tried to get me to model them, but I did allow her to put one in my hair for a quick picture. Then, the very very best? We got NIM sweatshirts from Aunt Julie! She said that since she was getting some for Maggie and Gracie, she thought she'd get some for us too. We love them!

Thanks for our presents guys!

You can't even call us big kids anymore...we're HUGE! Today we had to go to the doctor to get weighed and measured and we're both almost 31 inches long and weigh about 24 lbs. Huge right?? And we do tons of huge kid stuff, like sit together on benches while looking adorable...

and read while lounging on the couch...

and sit on our slide.

That's really my most favorite thing to do...especially climbing up!

Look at these awesome climbing things I found today!

They're almost better than climbing on my dad...almost.

Today our friend Juj came over to play. It was so good to see her. We haven't seen her since our birthday and we had tons of new tricks to show her! We played shopping cart together,

and we read books,

and played with our sports toy.

We even took a walk together! Juj wanted to ride in Ella's trike, and Mommy said it would be nice if she shared, so she did.

Mommy and Juj's mommy wanted us to pose for some pictures before they had to go home,

too bad Juj wasn't feeling photogenic. Maybe next time! Thanks for playing today Jujy!

For our birthday, our cousins Maggie and Gracie got us a wagon. We thought it would probably be the most awesome present ever, and we were basically right. Daddy finally got around to building it today and we got to go for a ride tonight. We LOVED it!

Thanks Maggie and Gracie!

Happy Husker Season!!

"Oh there is no place like Nebraska..."

Me and Ella, we play lots of games now that we're getting to be big kids. Want to know some of our favorites? Well, there's Lion Bait, where we (but mostly Ella) smashes into our lion friend and then he pops back up and tries to eat us. Then we smash him down again and tackle him.

Then there's Cage Games, which is really just when we're playing in our baby cage/ball pit.

I know I said I didn't like it before, but I do now...especially when Daddy hides out with me! Then there's Flashlight Games. Daddy says it's like a game he used to play with the puppy and a laser pointer.

Whatever, we just think it's awesome! Then there are some times I just like to be mellow and practice my yoga.
