Scorcher

It's a really hot one outside today, and instead of being lame and making us stay inside, Mommy and Liz took us to the pool. It was AWESOME! Once we were ready to go, we headed over to Oak Ridge.

See, they've got the best pool ever because they've got this place where toddlers like us can just walk right in. Mommy called it "zero-entry" or something like that. Anyway, we were super excited to play in the little fountains right on the edge.

Once we were feeling a little braver, we started splashing around in the bigger fountains, and wandering in and out of the water.

Want to know the best part about the pool?

Aiden

Today our friend Aiden and his mommy and daddy came over to play and then have dinner with us. It was super fun. First we played stroller,

and then we watched some cartoons.

Before he left, he gave me and Coopy hugs.

It was a pretty fun visit. Next time he said we could go play at his house.

Zoo

Today we finally got Mommy and Daddy to take us to the Minnesota Zoo. It was pretty fun too. See, we're members and basically that means that we get to run the place, and help out the zoo keepers, and play with whatever animals we want whenever we want. Or at least that's what we think it means to be a member. Anyway, our day started out at the fish tanks.

We wanted to see the dolphins, but they were still sleeping. After that, we went to Russia and saw the bears and the leopard. The bears were super playful, and we wanted to go have a swim with them, but Mommy and Daddy said their water would be too cold for us.

The leopard, on the other hand, must've woken up on the wrong side of the nest this morning because he was pacing at the front of his pen...and he looked hungry! I made sure Daddy hung onto me so he wouldn't be scared.

After that, it was time for a popcorn snack before finishing up and heading home for lunch and a nap.

Once we woke up from our nap, we got to play with our new purple zoo ball Mommy and Daddy got us.

It's super awesome and super bouncy and perfect for throwing and catching. We loved the zoo and we can't wait to go back!

Office

Today me and Mommy and Coopy went to visit Gramma Polly at her office. She said work's been pretty busy lately, so we thought we'd lend her our assistance and bond expertise for the morning. It also helped that the weather was pretty crummy so we weren't tempted to play outside or go for a walk or anything.

It's a good thing we were there too...we were so busy we couldn't even take five seconds to smile for a picture!

Water table

We got another birthday present today, and this one is super awesome! It's a water table! We LOVE it! It's so fun to splash and play and dump water over the sides.

Maybe next time, Mommy will be smart about setting it up so when we make a mess it waters the grass and not the patio. Thanks Aunt Diane!

TWO!

Today, we turned two. And we have to say, it's been a pretty awesome day. It started out with birthday cake and eggies for breakfast, and only got better from there! It wasn't nearly as hot outside today as it was yesterday, so we took some of our new toys out into the yard. I spent most of the day practicing my lawn mowing skills.

Now that I'm basically a pro lawn mower, I can help Daddy on the weekends. While I was mowing, Ella was walking her babies.

I'm pretty sure she's already a better stroller pusher than Mommy. Then, we had smoked pizza for dinner. It was so yummy!

Mommy and Daddy and Gramma Polly kept yammering at us while we were eating so instead of listening, we decided to block them out. It made dinner time much more enjoyable.

Once we were done, we went outside to meet the ice cream truck for our special Ice Cream Monday dessert with Max.

We know we have to learn how to share now that we're two. I'm pretty good at it, but maybe Ella should take lessons from Gramma Polly, instead of giving everyone the grumpy face.

We had a great birthday! Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us...we can't wait until next year!

In between day

Since yesterday was our party day, and tomorrow is our actual birthday, we thought today would be kind of an unexciting day. Boy oh boy were we wrong! When we woke up and came downstairs this morning, my baby's stroller was all put together and waiting for me!

It was awesome! Then when we got home from brunch with our grandparents at Oak Ridge, we got to open the rest of our presents. It was very exciting. Once we were done taking super excellent naps, Cooper got to play on his new scooter.

I'm pretty sure he'll be scooting around the neighborhood before the week is over. Once we'd exhausted ourselves (which is easy to do when you're a busy toddler with tons of new toys), we decided to watch some "Baby Signing Time" in our new twin chair from Gramma Polly.

This weekend has been so mega fun, we can't wait to see what's in store for us on our actual birthday tomorrow! Thanks for our awesome presents everyone!

Two party!

If you weren't at our house yesterday afternoon, you missed out because we had the best birthday party ever! We had a bounce house, and cake, and hamburgers, and hot dogs, and cake, and mms, and cake! And so many of our friends came over to play with us! The bounce house was so cool...it was a tiger, and it was a good thing it was so mega hot outside because if it was even a little bit cooler we would never have gotten out! After we opened our presents from Liz, we took her outside to test it out.

It was pretty fun, especially when our grammas peeked in at us.

While we were letting our tummies settle after our awesome dinner, I watched some horse racing with Pops.

Then it was time to jump with all our friends! Michael, and Max, and Ethan...

even our grammas got in!

Some of our younger friends, like Aiden and Jude were a little afraid of the tiger, so they mostly played inside. Pops wasn't so into jumping, but he did play peek with Ella, so I guess that counts.

When we all got too hot, it was time for cake.

Our cake was so delicious! Everyone thought so...especially Daddy.

Once we were done, it was back out to the tiger, but this time Daddy got in too!

Juj and her daddy also jumped with us, and since it was just us in the tiger, she sang us "Happy Birthday". By the time everyone left, we realized we were having so much fun we forgot to open presents! Fortunately, before bedtime, we got to open some from Gramma, Pops, Maggie and Gracie.

Thanks to all our friends and family that were able to celebrate two with us! We hope this year is as much fun as one was!
