Halloween 2012

Wanna know what's awesome?  Halloween.  It's AMAZING!  We started the day with treat bags from Liz filled with awesome stuff like watercolor paints and fart goop.  We decided to combine the two and paint our goop.

Pretty good idea huh?  Then it was time for us to test out our costumes before tonight's big show.

Ok...so we may have had to be bribed at first, but that's only because Mommy picked out our costumes this year without even asking what we wanted to be!  It all turned out ok though because basically we looked adorable.  Anyway, then it was time for dinner and finally we got to go out trick-or-treating!  First we had to take a picture with Max,

then it was time to hit the road!  Ella wasn't too keen on sticking her hands into the candy bowls our neighbors had out, but I dove right in.

Once we'd exhausted ourselves running from house to house, and I got sick of hearing Ella say "more candy" over and over and over, it was time to come home and break into our loot.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
(And happy birthday Aunt Yo!  We love you!)

Halloween Weekend

Wednesday is Halloween, so this weekend when Mommy and Daddy were in Lincoln, we decided to celebrate Liz's favorite holiday with her.  Unfortunately she wasn't feeling too well, so we had to tone down our enthusiasm a little, but we still managed to have fun.  We made cookies,

and even got to help frost them.

Trust us, they're delicious!

And we carved pumpkins.  Now even though I'm a boy, and generally speaking I love making massive messes, I don't really like the feel of the goopy gross inside of pumpkins.  And I'm pretty particular about what my pumpkins look like.  So while Ella dove right in,

hung back until Liz said I could carve a pumpkin of my choice.

Clearly the lame kitty and angry puppy are Ella's doing.  I'm a Husker fan through and through!  We can't wait for Halloween!

ABC's

Even though I'm a good singer, I'm still pretty camera shy.

Clearly my ABC's are coming along quite nicely though :-)

Laundry

Sometimes I like to help with the laundry...

even though Daddy's workout clothes are really stinky.

Leaves

Coopy and I have never really been big fans of anything too itchy, scratchy, poky, gritty, rough, or just generally yucky feeling.  But today we found something lurking in the neighbors' yard that was too tempting to pass up.  See, I was just outside coloring with chalk on the driveway and asking for Baby Mimi, when Mommy pointed out these big piles of leaves in Mimi's front yard.  I figured I may as well check them out...I mean, if for some strange reason I actually liked them and decided to play in them, maybe Mimi would see just how much fun I was having and she'd wake up from her stupid baby nap and come outside too.  Well the waking up never happened, but boy oh boy did Coopy and I have fun!  After I trudged through a few piles,

Daddy suggested raking a few of the smaller ones into one big one ideal for playing in.  Coopy and I may have had a little disagreement on who should get to actually do the raking.

Clearly, Mommy's lack of interest in anything resembling yard work and outdoor chores has yet to rub off on me.  Anyway, once the pile was big enough, I did some posing, tossing and playing, while Coopy kept raking up my mess.

However, once he saw just how big a job it was going to be continually picking up after me, he enlisted Max's help.

I mean, we were kind of playing in his yard anyway, so I guess good manners dictates that we had to invite him to play.  It was pretty ok that Max came out to join us though, because he just got this awesome tractor, and he was nice enough to share with Coopy and me.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes I can get a little possessive, even over things that don't exactly belong to me.  So when Max decided I'd spent enough time playing with his tractor, to distract me, Mommy decided it'd be a good idea to throw me in the leaves.

I was less than impressed.  But I got her back.

Photo shoot

Now that I'm almost two and a half, I'm getting very demanding, especially when I want something.  So today, when Mommy and Liz said it was time to leave for gym class, I was all "Mommy. Come."  It's been a while since we've had a good gym class photo shoot, so I thought maybe today should be the day.  It probably helped that I looked extra adorable.  Anyway, it was a pretty awesome class today.  We did some sliding and climbing before class started,

and then we did some driving.

It was car wash day you see.  After that, it was time for the trapeze.

It was a pretty good class today, and it helped that we got to see our friend Juj on our way out. But the best part of class?

Twirling.

Nebraska

Daddy had a few meetings in Norfolk this week, so me, and Ella and Mommy decided to tag along.  You see, we hadn't been to Norfolk since July, and we had some important stuff to do.  See, Gramma Lea had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago, and we decided we'd better pay her a visit to cheer her up, and help her get better soon.  So Wednesday we got up and got moving right away so we could spend some time in Lincoln.  Not only was she glad we stopped by, but we saw Papa too and he had presents for us!  First we got these awesome wooden cars,

and then I got this super awesome hat!

I let Ella wear it though too, just because I'm a nice brother.

I made sure to flirt with Gramma Lea, and we both even posed for a few pictures.

Then on Thursday, after Ella helped Gramma make krispie treats, Uncle Arnie, Maggie and Gracie came over for dinner.

We had a great time playing with our cousins, and we even posed for some more pictures!

It's nice to be home, but we had a great visit.  Maybe next time we'll get to swing out to the office to keep Pops on his toes!
